Types of skin growths that can be effectively removed with my treatment include: Moles, Skin Tags, Solar Lentigo (aka sun spots), Seborrheic Keratoses, Solar/Actinic Keratoses, Cherry Angiomas, Sebaceous Hyperplasias, Warts (non-plantar) and many more.
During your first visit, Dr. Casey will examine your skin growths and let you know if they can be successfully removed (over 95% of common growths can) and what the cost will be. He will answer any other questions you have and then commence treatment if you wish to do so.If the growths appear cancerous or non-treatable with this method, you will be referred to a dermatologist for further evaluation.
The procedure involves a proprietary acetic solution that is topically applied to the skin growth(s). This solution constricts the irregular cells, cutting off their blood supply and thereby destroying them. A protective scab forms within a few days of treatment followed by normal scab healing. The scab will fall off within 1-4 weeks–depending on the type of growth and its location–leaving fresh, healthy skin.
In some cases a growth will have “roots” or greater depth, in which case a follow up treatment will be made after the outer layers have been removed and the skin has had a chance to heal (usually 2-3 months after the initial treatment). In this way, even very large skin growths can be effectively removed in a stepwise fashion that minimizes scarring, and it is possible to treat an unlimited number of growths at one time with no ill effects.
While the cost of treatment varies based on the type, size and location of the growths, you can expect to pay around $100-150 for a large mole; with a progressive discount for additional spots treated (e.g. $200-250 for 3 large moles; $300-350 for 6; etc).
Payment is expected at the time of service and can be made with Cash, Check or Credit/Debit Card.
Depending on how your skin growths are innervated, you may feel a mild to moderate stinging sensation that lasts for a few minutes or nothing at all. Some patients even report the sensation to be pleasurable. In certain cases, such as when the growth is located in a sensitive area, the discomfort may be greater but still only lasts for a few minutes. .
Taking care of your skin after the treatment is quite simple. You should try to keep it dry for the first 12-24 hrs and then brief periods of water exposure are fine. There is no need to cover the scab as it heals, but you will want to protect it from direct sun exposure and keep the borders moist with Vitamin E, coconut oil or a healing salve of your choice. Avoid picking off the scab prematurely, but after it falls off on its own you can cover the entire spot with a healing salve daily for at least a month.
